It runs! (new heads)

So I finally got my car running yesterday. For those that don't remember, I blew a head gasket and ended up picking up a set of Trick Flow heads. After several setbacks, I finally got it all together with the help of another local Mustang owner. Fired it up yesterday and drove it to class:)

....and got pulled over right as I got to class. The CHP gave me a warning, but told me that if I get pulled over again anytime soon, it'll show up when they look my license plate up on their computer. So now I'm all freaked out about testing the car's limits=/

I do have to say, the motor seems like it has more low end grunt now. I haven't taken it above 3500 yet, so I have no idea how it performs when I get into it in the power band, but so far I'm happy. I also probably need to retune the carb and add a little ignition advance.

My desktop dyno software guesstimates 352hp @ 6500 (and climbing) and 346ft-lbs @ 4500. While probably optimistic, I'm confidant I'm above the 1hp and 1ft-lb per cube mark, which is good enough for me.

Anyway, I'll report back when I play with it a little more.

Wow, you were pulled over and never exceeded 3500 rpms??? Burnouts?

Nope, not yet. I was super late to class and I got stuck behind some lady in a 4-runner doing 62 in the left lane. Had to wait for someone to pass in the right lane, moved over, hit maybe 75 passing her (in a 65 zone), got pulled over right as I got to the school half a mile up the road.

CHP was nice though, so no real complaints.

Oh, and I have 3.25 gears:p

Wow. Never not EVER not NEVER have I ever seen anyone get pulled over for passing on the right. NEVER. "Pass on the left" is a suggestion, and not one widely followed. And 75 in a 65 is "just getting started" in Georgia.

Atlanta has 55 MPH posted on all Interstates. Most people drive around 80 if the traffic isn't bad. I know I've blown through GHP speed traps at 75 in a 55, with traffic passing me, and the officers never flinched...

Congrats on getting the wheels back on the pavement!

Well, he pulled me over for speeding, and in theory for following the 4-runner too closely, although I don't agree with that one. 10 over is borderline on that stretch of road (I don't think he gunned me, he just guessed), which is a state highway, not an interstate where I would normally cruise at 70-75. I was just in a hurry and pissed at the lady that felt like she needed to be in the way.
