So I finally got my car running yesterday. For those that don't remember, I blew a head gasket and ended up picking up a set of Trick Flow heads. After several setbacks, I finally got it all together with the help of another local Mustang owner. Fired it up yesterday and drove it to class
....and got pulled over right as I got to class. The CHP gave me a warning, but told me that if I get pulled over again anytime soon, it'll show up when they look my license plate up on their computer. So now I'm all freaked out about testing the car's limits=/
I do have to say, the motor seems like it has more low end grunt now. I haven't taken it above 3500 yet, so I have no idea how it performs when I get into it in the power band, but so far I'm happy. I also probably need to retune the carb and add a little ignition advance.
My desktop dyno software guesstimates 352hp @ 6500 (and climbing) and 346ft-lbs @ 4500. While probably optimistic, I'm confidant I'm above the 1hp and 1ft-lb per cube mark, which is good enough for me.
Anyway, I'll report back when I play with it a little more.
