Is $613.87 too much for a turn signal switch?

I just bought this baby...
I email and asked if it had PS and PB and he said yes, so I bought it. I'm gonna put the PS (and PB) on my 67 and sell off the rest. What do ya think?

Sounds like you have a plan there. Looks like some good interior stuff.

I looked at a '66 locally here that was worse and he wanted $1000. I walked after I offered $500 and he countered with $800. Even $500 was to much.
 
Yeah, I was the only bidder at $550 and at the last minute somebody jacked it up. I don't know if the switch works but I've been wanting PS cuz the BB 67 is real hard to park. I also still have the long shaft gear box which is not the safest. When I switch the steering I will use the 68 column and I need a turn signal switch anyway so I hope it works. The interior is in great shape, the car appears to have been restored in the 80's. I figure I can recoup most of my money by selling the console and shifter...

That's one of the big dollar items that caught my eye....

If you do it right Craig, you could easily double, maybe even triple your initial outlay.

Seat frames (front and rear)

Send the underdash wiring harness down to Midlife for an easy $50

WS/back glass stainless trim

Door internals are likely to be in great shape

Lots of little one off brackets and such that people are willing to pay for.

I have a 67 Cougar harness (Tach car) also? I bought it when I put the Tach in my 67 and then realized I didn't need the harness to wire it up.
I have bought and sold so many parts cars over the years, this looked like it had potential. Thanks guys.

in the FWIW column, when i pulled the steering box out of my 67, it was really in horrible shape.
i'd driven around with it like that for years but just thought the non-power setup was always going to be a struggle.
i replaced it with a quick ratio Flaming River box, still with no power, and it was awesome.
it's still a bish to parallel park, but once i'm rolling it is great.
anyway, that's my pitch for ditching original steering boxes.
and no, i'm not a paid spokesman for Flaming River, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last nite :dance
 
I actually did stay at a Holiday Inn last night but I still don't know what FWIW means?
Thanks for the testimonal on Flaming River, if I do go that route the 68 column should still make it easier right?

I'm always hesitant to use these abreviations as I don't like assuming that people can decipher them.

Yes, Craig, the '68 column will have a collapsible shaft and will increase the safety factor. Look up under the dash at the column and notice the black rubber accordian shaped "boot" around the column.

These shortcuts are nothing. Try reading text messages on the cell phone when they come from 12 & 14 yr. old grandchildren. Then, because you don't answer quick, you get a second message. After a couple of these. I call and ask what they want. lol

I've been looking at consoles! They get really expensive!

I dunno Craig.... it doesn't look to me like there's more than $50 worth of parts left on that car. Besides, where are you going to store all of these "strays"?
 
I live on a dead-end street on the edge of town (in Kentucky!) a few cars in the yard is expected. Actually I plan to strip them down so it would be storing parts mostly.
