I want to buy this....

Saw the pics.
Looks nicer the in real I think. ( color/paint on rubbers access seat track screws )
Left door "hangs/sags"
Front left frame rail "twisted" ??

My first impression ( but I could be wrong) so asking price is a tad too high.

IMHO

Yes agree on all points. Thanks for looking at the pics. Seller took the car in trade claims to not know much about the car. The paint worries me what's it hiding?

He claims no rust.

I really do want a 69 GT 390 sportsroof so not a common car for sure.

Looks like the original owner was only trying to get $22,100 out of it.. http://sale-cars.net/1969-ford-mustang_14208.html
There is a 518 number at the bottom of the description, that is a New York area code where the car came from looking at the previous listing. I would call that number. Probably get some accurate info from him. Says original metal except for 1 piece floor.

Just noticed the number isn't complete. But looking at the last few listings, nothing was done to the car since the original owner sold it. He was asking $22k Probably sold for under 20. Too bad you didn't find it then.

Damn! I was hoping to get him down to $27k doesn't look like that's going to happen. Thanks for the info.

Inside the trunk, right side, doesn't look right to me. Also, one of the pictures of the frame rail--may be an optical illusion but it looks like it's hanging down?

Did float an offer but not feeling the seller on this one. If anyone sees a 69 GT 390 Sportsroof that is in great shape please PM me.

Why would someone go through all the effort of replacing the floor and torque boxes and not take the time to properly prepare the e brake brackets before welding them back to the floor. Stuff like that just make me think they took other shortcuts in repairing stuff.

You think the floors have been replaced? Those brackets are pathetic. The price has dropped a bit.

From one of the links I posted above: This is a rare low production GT model one of one s-code fastback. Original motor. All solid original quarter doors and fenders...no rust! Only metal work was a one piece floor pan installed. Perfect original frame rails, torque boxes, trunk area.

Damn I miss that. I'm done. This isn't for me. Thanks guys!

Nice car, but there are a couple of "problems" with it IMHO. First, the "390" emblems on the hood scoop are incorrect. Those italic emblems would have been on a non-hood scoop car under the Mustang script on the front rockers. The proper 390 hood scoop emblems would have been rectangular, not parallelograms. It shows a certain lack of attention to detail when preparing the car that might extend to other areas. Second, and judging from the Marti report I'm probably wrong, but I've never seen a GT car without a deluxe interior before. In fact I've always thought that the deluxe interior was part of the GT option. The seats would have still been low backs with headrests and not the Mach 1 specific high backs in 69, but the door cards and the dash inserts should have the fake wood (either walnut or teak), and the steering wheel would have been the deluxe rim blow wheel. So as I read that this car sold for over $26K I'm kicking myself because, back in 1998 when I was looking for a 69 Mustang SportsRoof, I passed on a candy apple red 69 S code GT with a 4 speed that was professionally restored. The seller was the son and heir of the deceased owner who had also owned a local Mustang shop, and he was asking $8,500. I wound up buying my convertible for $3,500 but I really would have preferred the GT fastback but $5K got in my way.
