My Mustang just won it's second award in four shows up here in the hinterlands. I guess nobody up here has ever seen a 69 Mustang convertible before (just kidding). They were actually both sponsor selections for Best Mustang in a couple of all breeds shows. Go figger. I doubt that would have happened in a entrant's choice format. I had entered it in the Best Convertible category in a show between these two, but a guy showed up with a beautiful 61 Caddy convertible in a light mustard yellow with a white interior that took the hardware there. It is kind of fun to get back into showing the car, though. I guess the Eagles were right about the "new kid in town".
BTW, there was a guy at this last show with a 64.5 convertible that he bought new with some Keno winnings when he was 16 years old (but I thought you had to be 21). The car was Prarie Bronze with a matching standard interior and a 260 with a 3 speed manual tranny. He had a display with a picture of he and his prom date standing next to the car back in 65. The years had been better to the car than to him, but you could still sort of see it was the same person. The car was unrestored for the most part but he had kept it in pristine condition. He said he had repainted it some years ago. I imagine that car is worth a couple of bucks just based on the provenance.
