Hate to ask it, what do you see them going for?

Well as much as I hate asking the question, the economy and law school graduation with zero job prospects has forced my hand. What have you guys been seeing 70 Mach 1's go for? Mine has a 428 SCJ in it right now, but that motor is not original to the car and would be replaced with a 351 4v before selling. A few specs - Mach 1, 351 4v, 4 speed, 3.91 Detroit Locker out back, disc brakes, power steering, rear wing, pop open gas cap, mag 500 rims, new tires, dual exhaust. Car is a custom dark grey metallic color with black Mach interior (seats have the silver stripe on them). The only pics I have are from when she came back from the painter's and she is pretty well back together at this point.

I know NADA lists average retail on this car at about $32k but I also know it's not about what a book says it's worth, it's about what someone is willing to pay for it.

I keep an eye on what they are going for in the KC area and the problem around here is that they do not sell.

Sellers are asking around $27,000 and up for 351s and not getting any takers. There have been some 428s and Boss 302s being listed for around $50,000.

It appears that there are not many actually selling on eBay either. I looked last month and if I remember correctly only one had truly sold. The reserve had not been reached on all of the others.

There are going to be a few going across the block at Mecum next weekend. It will be interesting if they sell and for how much.

Mecum is usually more of a realistic price than BJ.

Good luck on yours.

I appreciate the info. I haven't done too much looking into what they go for, if anything as of late so that's why I was asking. I'm tracking a few on ebay right now and we'll see what they end up going for, if at all. Unfortunately I always saw the car as only an investment and my heart was never really in that body style. I'd eventually like to build up a 68 convertible and drop the 428 in. I will only have about $20k into her when she's completed so even getting around $21-25 would be great.

Shame on you. :rp

Sorry :shy I certainly don't dislike the body style, it's just that my first car several years ago was a 68 and because of that the 65-66 and 69-70 (which I have all owned) never got me the same way that 68 did.

Well I can definitely understand that.

As for your question, how about 5 bucks and a case of Bud Light?

The Bud Light is just a deal breaker for me. Too classy for my taste. I'm a Keystone/Coors Light man. :$$$ :lol

Dang. Personally I drink Yuengling, but figured you may not know what it is since is a East Coast thing. I just threw out Bud Light since it is nationally known.

Even though that's a custom mix grey, it looks really nice. Gorgeous paint.

Sorry to hear it has to go, and with the market the way it is right now, anything as far as historic values or book value is pretty much worthless.

My dad is a big Yuengling guy. We had a bar in undergrad that served $5 pitchers of it and needless to say, we bought a lot of those, haha.

I'm hoping it doesn't have to go, and as of right now it doesn't. I just don't want to be unprepared should it have to be put up on the market. I know the book values and historic values are out the window now which is why I was hoping some of you guys may have been watching the market the last several months.
