Had some me time

And how would those air shocks look like ? Cause the undersite of tje rear shock reinforcement plate is hammered down.

They looked and mounted just like regular shocks but had a Schrader valve so you could pump up the air pressure in them to raise the back end of your car and get that crazy jacked up look. Problem is they weren't good at dampening the shock action so the car bounced and all that impact destroyed the sheetmetal where they were mounted.

Like hi-jackers ? Well didn't know that they would cause those cracks . Weird.
So too stiff regular shock absorbers could be the cause also ?

Not really. Regular shocks, stiff or not, have dampening effect to lessen any (pardon the pun) shock effect of harsh suspension movement. Being fluid filled vs air makes a huge difference. You can't compress fluid.

Cleaned out the wheelwells.....with a pneumatic jigsaw. Works great !

Me thinks it s a translation thing. Looks like a pneumatic die grinder type tool to me. Likely has a wire wheel or such on it. Hard to see.

OK. Due some problems getting parts for my sunscreen on the porch , I took some time to work on the red fastback.
I had ordered some body parts last december and finally got the time to get them.
I decided to rebuilt the front part with all new parts instead of straighten the old parts like the frame rail.
The goal is to make some kind of frame to assemble the front part.

Took some time today cause its rainy outside. Can't trim a 7ft heigh , 100 yards long hedge , both sides. :p
Went to the hard store to pick up some nuts and bolts so I could assemble the shock towers to the frame.
First I mounted the inner parts of the shock tower where the motor mounts to.
To do that I had to make a plate with 2 holes that were theaded so I could slide it into the frame. Did work just fine.
Next were the actual towers. It took a prybar to tackle the work but this also went well. Except for the top bolt.Less then 1/8 out of aligment with the innen piece.
I have always heard that the 1piece export brace has the correct dimensions , so I did the test. Frankly they are right, at least in my case.
Without any hassle I could mount the export brace.
Next thing to do was to take the laser and hoped it didn't chatter my hopes. ... Perfect !!!
Didn't expect that everything went so smoothly. The export brace was about 1/8 out of center !!
Next thing to do is to measure and correct the lower parts of the inner piece of the shock tower.....Where the motor mounts are attached to.
Here some pics of course.....and tell me where to watch out for cause its my first time !!!

Where are you located Terry? Heard on our newschannel that that lake at Hoover Dam , the waterlevel is extremely low !! And summer just started !!
Last week we had temp around 85 °F and now its below 70 °F
Weekend will be just above 70 °F.
Time to trim that hedge.

Outside of Chicago. We, like the bulk of the country, have had what would be considered a very hot late summer weather streak so far this season. Temps here in the 90's for a couple weeks. We usually don't see those temps until the peak of summer in late July into August. Out west is even hotter. Sent the wife on vacation to visit my son and family in AZ last week and the temps were in the 115-118 F range all week. We finally got a reprieve a couple days ago when a weather front moved in and dropped a wee bit of rain. And a tornado. Missed my place by less than a half mile. Did some damage and made national news even. Quite a year so far!

I was wondering how close that tornado was to you. Glad you're ok.

And yes it has been unnaturally hot here too. I want global warming in the winter, not the damn summer.

Today I finally mounted my recaro's the right way. It took me a whole day to make some kind of supports for both seats.

I also mock-up the entire front end during the previous weeks. Today the last piece (dynacorn) came in.
