gt 40 heads and Explorer intake

Is there a specific intake manifold gasket for gt 40 heads? Or am I looking for any 5.0L intake gasket?

I am running ported GT40's but using a Weiand stealth intake.

I could be wrong but in my case I am pretty sure the gasket set was just the standard 302 set...but I am not using an Explorer intake.

I agree, i think they are just 302 gaskets, nothing special on the intake side.

The std 302 gaskets worked fine for my GT40P also.

Agreed. I'd probably use the fel-pro 1250 intake gasket.

You need the Explorer/Cobra intake gasket set, the upper intake gasket is big-time different and the T/B gasket should be set up for a 65mm TB. The rest is plain old 289/302 stuff though.

Iirc, the water ports on the later models are slightly different. Fel Pro 1250's would be my suggestion, as they have water ports that you trim to match. Not to mention, they seal better with aluminum than the standard permatorque gaskets.
