Got a tuner for the truck

Holy bejebus, these things really wake up a diesel!
Doing some maintenance, upgrades and mods to the tow vehicle lately and just added the tuner. One of the tunes turns a relatively docile 7.3 PSD into a fire breathing monster. Not needed for daily driving, but it's fun to play with.

New air cleaner assembly, trans cooler and a 4" exhaust have been added. Should make it a better tow machine.

We have a 2003 F250 wit hthe first year 6.0L Powerstroke. I have only added a Magnaflow turbo back exhaust (I think it is 3.5") and a K&N air filter. The thing might be faster than my Mustang.

When I loaded the badass tune, it was like a rocket, belching out black smoke! Shifts a lot better too. First time I've ever messed with a car's electronics. I hope it tows a little better as well. Won't be as much power, but should be better than stock with better shifts.

The 7.3 takes a tune better than any other PSD. You can really ramp up the power as well as the mileage, just not at the same time. You will be amazed at how much stronger it pulls!

Do you have gauges? I cooked my original turbo with a mild tune towing my camper up a steep grade. I was still running my restrictive stock exhaust at the time. I now have intake, exhaust and egt, boost and trans gauges.

Those are on the way.

I'm looking into a set of injectors this winter to take it to the next level. Every now and then I'll click her down to the stock level to remind me how slow the truck was stock.

No more mods than what I'm doing now. I'd hate for it to go boom. I already have one of those

JUst remember, that many tuners increase power by increasing fuel pressure. You notice this by the large amount of black smoke. Problem is it can lead to premature failure of high pressure fuel rails, injectors & fuel lines.

Yes, that's why I only checked out the top performance tune. It'll run one for street +, most of the time when not towing.
