Got a serious 5k dollar offer on my car

Like the title states, guy that restores these cars offered me 5k. I turned him down. He just wants the body and sheetmetal that I've yet to install. He hit me back with throw him a number. I'm kinda scared too thinking he might take me up on it. I could part the rest of the stuff I've got for the car for about 2500 give or take a few bucks. Not sure that I want to sell but boy if it doesn't make you think. I've still got alot of work to get this thing to a driver.

You've got too much blood and sweat into it... You'll kick yourself if you sold it. Unless you're in a financial bind or you get a ridiculously high offer, don't even consider it!

I agree. If I did sell I'd go to the dark side and buy a 67 firebird that I've had my eye on. I'm not hurting for money or it's that great of an offer or anything... it strictly that desire we all have of instant gratification, meaning I could sell and have a decent drivers quality hotrod in the garage.

I think I'll tell him $6500 for what he wants. I don't think he'll go that high. If he did, I would end up getting around 9k out of everything. I'm afraid he'll take me up on it though. 9k would be good money for it considering I've got 6k or so tied up in it.

You would have a fine looking machine when you're done! However, when I was working on my 67 coupe, I was amazed or horrified as how much money it took to get it where it is today! My husband especially wasn't too happy about what I spent, but he now enjoys going to the car show get togethers! I do like to be able to say I did it all (human to machine bonding) and know everything about my project car vs buying a classic that is ready to roll. One more thing then I'll hush, I like the time spent working on it~ it's therapeutic! :thu

If you're doing all this 'Mustang' thing just to flip cars...do it.

If you started the whole process because you wanted a classic Mustang and were willing to do what it takes to get it in the condition you want it then keep it. Don't count the dollars. It means much more than that.

I agree. I started this because a 67-8 fastback was/is a dream car. I told him the 6500 and I think it scared him off :hide
