glass trim retainer clip question

For the 65 FB, the new cowl and the rear filler piece (between the trunk and window openings) have little standoffs installed that look like they are to hold the trim clips along those edges. I only remember removing the screw type clips from the car, so that is what I bought. Is there another type of trim clip to use in this area? I see these on MU:

should I get some of these or should I just cut off the standoffs and use all screw type?

I used a combination of the snap in and the screw type on mine. They are essentially the same in terms of function, just mount differently. I prefer the snap in type because they are easier to service with the windows installed and probably provide better corrosion protection. If you stick with the screw type, be sure to put a dab of sealer on the screws.

My 65 used both types. I found out the hard way that there are two different sizes for the 65 and 66. The aftermarket trim pieces I bought for the 65 came with the wrong (66 style) clips. Mustangs Plus carried the correct size of clip as well as the proper screws. The screws came with a dab of epoxy-like sealer on them.

What was different about the clip size? Any chance you have any left over of each that you could post a picture of...

As I recall (so I may be wrong), there are a couple that are larger than the rest on a 65/66 front glass. I don't think there is a difference between years. Maybe someone here knows for sure?

It had to do with the size of the clip. I know I have the bigger ones at home, but will have to look for the smaller ones. I was told it was a year issue as all of the ones I put on the 65 were the same size. The location of where the screw/post went was different and my glass guy knew the problem. One fix would have been to redrill the holes to a different location....I preferred using the proper clips. I will try to post a pic later.

I just found a set of the "34N" clips that he's looking at in my spare parts bin...
The bottom of the clip to the rough center of the pin is .300", and about .525" to the hook that catches the molding.
