So just to try a little to slow my oil usage I decided to replace my valve (rocker) cover gaskets. I'm sure they haven't been touched since the engine rebuild 25 years ago. I purchased a set of Edelbrock rubber gaskets for the FE engine.
So I've read to not use any sealant, use some on the cover side (to hold gasket in place), to apply it on the complete gasket.
Any thoughts on this?
I have removed the driver's side and found that the old cork seemed to have been letting some oil past it. I have cleaned the cover best I can and the head seems nice and clean.
