I will be upgrading my 16 gallon to a 1970 22 gallon tank. But, I can not decide on what to get :hmm
I am running an Edelbrock electric pump and will use my current sender even though it will read low unit it reach's 3/4 and the
typical modified fuel neck. Might be doing some light open track.

If there are any other options I missed. Please post them.
I am not really looking at money. But, would like some opinions. No use in spending almost $500 just because it looks nice in the trunk :)

a) Scott Drake w/drain (Mustang Depot) $125
b) American Designer w/drain (Mustang Depot) $160
c) Stainless Steel w/drain (Mustang Depot) $305
d) "Tanks" Inc. no drain $130 http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/page/ ... prd326.htm

Now for the Special Stuff

e) Glenn's Performance Sleeper $400 http://www.glennsperformance.com/index.php?cPath=77
f) Glenn's Performance Sump $400 http://www.glennsperformance.com/index.php?cPath=77
g) Atomic Fabrications $482 http://www.atomicfabrications.com/item.aspx?itemid=5015
h) Hot Rod City $450 http://www.hotrodcitygarage.com/fordtrucktanks.html

Tip: American Designers Inc. was bought by Spectra Premium Industries. These are advertised as the North American made "better" tanks.
These are normally sold with a part#F28D or F28H

I don't have an opinion on the tanks, but why wouldn't you change the sending unit as well as the tank?

Really, The 22 gallon tank requires a sending unit much longer than that of a 16 gallon tank:

a) 65-68 = 16 gallon
b) 69-70 = 20 gallon
c) 71+ = 22 gallon

I have a Ron Morris efi sending unit with built in return and don't want to swap it out. No biggie. It will only read full for a little longer.

I think it's:
a) 65-68 = 16 gallon
b) 69 = 20 gallon
c) 70 = 22 gallon
d) 71-73= 20 gallon

Take a look at my issue with the galvanized tanks loosing their coating. This will may help you decide.

Oops, you are correct.

I think there are better places on the car to spend the difference, i'd go with the standard SD/stock replacement and coat the internal (Red Coat tank sealer?) as Evil mentions in his thread http://www.stangfix.com/http://localhos ... #msg244169
or invest in the stainless.
Just my .02
Jon

Edit, Nick posted while I did, that tank he linked looks well made, bookmarked for when I do my 22gal. conversion!

Done the Red Coat treatment and it turned out great. Used only one can but thinned it with acetone at a 1 to 5 parts mix. Course the tank was in excellent condition and there were no holes to worry about. Whatever tank you get (unless it's SS) you may want to coat it before installing it. :thum
