Fuel leak and fix saga....

So a few weeks ago while helpng Craig with Shag he notices a fuel leak coming from my carb. Seems the throttle shaft is leaking. I needed a new carb base plate. Ordered one up from Summitt. Installed and it ran like crap. Jeff came over and with checking float levels and changing the mixture we got it to run but it still wouldn't idle. Give up and let be as is.
So while we're at JohnPro's poker night we talk with 65benchcoupe(Robert) and he asks "did you line up the small holes with the gasket? That needs to be done or the carb won't idle." duh. :rp..okay....I thought it was self aligning if you screwed the screws through the holes.
So I take it all apart again. Search the local auto parts shops for a new base gasket. Nope, no such thing at the store. I need a carb rebuild kit. mmmmm? Today I just say the hell with it and use the origianl gasket since the 'new' one had a slight indentations where the small holes were not aligned. Put it on the car. Eureka! :pbj Car idles fine at 600rpm. I haven't driven it yet because I have the taillights out to replace with LEDs...which have been wired wrong....need to call MustangProject next.....

What wrong with the led lights.? I didn't have any problems.Maybe i can help.
When using the orig sockets , you do have to cut the orig wiring.
The circuitboard are marked "left" and " right"
I support the circuitboard inside the housing with some sticky " gumm "
 
Here is what I did.
Since the housing would have to be in the trunk...not installed in order to put the wired socket through it then connect the LEDs I decided to cut the socket wires slightly upstream and then attach male/female spade connectors. No problem there.

I then attached the LEDs in the housing with the socket while at my work bench. Yes I did install the LEFT to the LEFT side. Take the housings to the trunk. and attach the spade connectors. Only the RIGHT side LEDs light up. I have the wires connected with the spades as there were (white/white, black/black). Next I move the RIGHT LEDs to the left side. They work. LEFT to RIGHt side...not working.

The push in plug has a high./low pins on it. Well if you install it corrretly the LEFT LEDs do not work. If you install it opposite (just push in slightly)...they work. Seems to me that Mustang Project wired the LEFT LEDs taillights wrong.

DO you think if I swapped wires black to white and white to black, that that would be the same as MP correcting their error? I'm worried about frying those LEDs. Or should I just call MP and get a new set of LEDs?
 
First , taken care as both housings have to be grounded.
Switching the 2 wires can't hurt the circuitboard as long as you don't take the ground wire !( black )
You can ( after calling Rick or James at MP) switch the wires at the circuitboard so the wires in the trunk are correct.
 
I called MP this morning. We made sure the wires to the board were correct. they were. Seems it is wired wrong in the plug. I'm sending it back today. No big deal since I neeed new rubber back there so that will take a while to get too.
