That was an advice to myself after discovering that the spot I decided to host the MSD ignition box was going to cause interference between itself and the power steering pulley by maybe 1/2". So today I relocated the box forward by 3/4" and downward by 1". I then had to weld in the original 4 holes. Didn't want the inner fender apron too cheesey.

Sorry no pics

Gentlemen, that would be a welderette. OK I'll take a pic today just to shut you girls up.

OK, just to shut you buzzards up, here's an Ariel view of the relocated MSD box as compared to the PS pump pulley. Prior to this the MSD box was about 3/4" further back and 3/4" higher. I could not install the pulley onto the pump without it hitting the box.

Now if the belt stretches out, I can still move the pump.

Oooohhhh, look at that purty blue PS pump :craz

Guess what? That PS pump belongs in Red, whenever I get around to it. Shag's is being rebuilt by Stanger53 and it will be black.

Patrick,
I just used some local hardware semi gloss. Scuffed up the box with some fine paper, remove the decals, shot the entire box, then had to carefully scrape and sand off the paint on top of the ribs.

I will need to create some sort of wire protector down where the wires come out of the box just in case the PS pulley belt breaks and slaps against the wires. I'd hate to lose power because of a broken belt.

You can carefully put Vaseline on top of the ribs. The paint won't stick to the Vaseline, then you just wipe it off after the paint dries.
