First side of the road repair last night.....

I was driving home from a show about 10 miles from my house. This lady pulled along side and beeped her horn and yelled my tail lights were out. I could see in my mirror that the brake and turn signals worked. I yelled thanks and pulled into a parking lot to take a look. Grabbed a scewdriver from the trunk and pulled the lower dash panel off so I could get to the two taillight harness plugs, one had come apart. I think I broke the little tab off it when I took it out of the car. Put it back together and all was good. I'll put some electrical tape on it today.

I was in the parking lot maybe 5 minutes, one of the cars from the show drove by while I was putting it back together, about 5 or 6 miles up the road I saw him pulled in a parking lot. He had a chase vehicle though with about 4 people, otherwise I woulda stopped, even if it was a chebby.

I don't think it qualifies as being on the road until there has been at least one parking lot repair, no matter how minor.

There is nothing wrong with the plugs except the tab that is broken that holds the two together. I dont want to solder and hear shrink them in case I ever need to remove it. I'd have to find a new plug and solder and heat shrink them to make a more permanent fix. The electrical tape will keep the plug together.

No parking lot repairs here, but I've had a few Track repairs...does that count?

No doubt, nothing faster than a turbo diesel :gs

Glad it was an easy fix.

All I can say, is anybody that hasn't done at least 2 roadside repairs on their car, either doesn't drive it enough, or doesn't drive it hard enough :nice
