Since I keep coming back asking for advice and direction I figure I better introduce myself soon before someone shows me the door. Spent the better part of a year mostly lurking around at that other site before finding my way over here.
My name is Terry and my car and I reside in the western suburbs outside Chicago. Jumped back into the classic mustang ranks a little over a year ago with the purchase of my 65 fastback. Life kinda goes full circle it seems as my first car was a 65. Spent the last number of years in late models, most recently a 02 Roush. Fun ride but it's great to get back to where I started. Really missed the days of a radical small block.
I bought my car off a stalled rotisserie restoration...completely disassembled and in too many parts boxes to count. First stop after bringing her home was the media blaster. A little metal and body work later, I was spraying it in the garage. First time painting a car for me but really happy with the results. Note to others, maybe black is not the best choice for first job!
Since then things had to slow up do to work and life in general but now I'm back at it.
Originally silver smoke grey with a red interior, 289 2bbl, C4...its being reborn in black with a two tone red-black interior. Exact engine combo not yet defined. Most likely 5 speed. 9". Wilwoods all around.
Well that's me and my car. If I did it right, there should be a pic here!
