New motor appears to be alive.

Smoking a little though...is that normal for a new rebuild or maybe because of gunk in the pipes from the old motor?

Or maybe we just need to adjust some things some more?

Any ideas?

Did the builder do the break in?

No, we've been doing it this a.m. He had said he was going to do it but didn't....

Give it a little. You'll get some of this during break in. I bet it clears up in 20 minutes.

I am going to wait and see...my thought is it might be assembly lube burning off....

Yes. You've got a lot of "oils" that find it's way into an engine during assembly also. Give it a little. Have fun on this nerve-racking day.

Assembly fluid, rings/valves seating......

Perform the cam break-in per the manufacturers directions and then see where you're at.
