Ever seen a seat that won't move .... From the Factory?

I pulled this pass. seat out of a D-code 64.5 a while back. We bought the car as a driver and the damn seat wouldn't move. I unbolted this thing and thought :wtf and it was factory stuff. I replaced it with one that did and kept this thing around. Turns out, the first 2-3 months of production, they were like this. Not all the plants did it but most did. I asked over on the paint dobber forum and they knew all about it. Odd. Thought some of you might like to see.

Sell that sucker on ebay as a one of only a few...special edition, non-adjustable factory seat.

That is supposed to be a way to help verify the date of early 64.5's. A club member here has a 64.5 Vert that the pass. seat is like that. One of Fords better ideas......and cheap.

Whoddathunkit.... I saw that one time and just figured it was a previous owners way of fixing an inop seat track. Now I know better!

I've heard of the non-adjusting seats, but I've never actually seen one before (not even a picture), so thanks for posting what it looks like.

I gave it to 5F09CNot4Sale over on the www.concoursmustang.com forum.

He has an early 64.5 and had been looking for one. I would have never, ever used it. I sold the car it came from years ago. Ford did some odd stuff but a fixed seat is about the top of cheepness.
