Door Window rear guide

I spent a few hours today removing all of the internals of my driver side door to determine which items can be refurbished and which ones need to be replaced when I start putting my bar back together. On the rear guide for the window, there is a small 3" strip of felt attached. By the looks of mine, it needs to be replaced. Does anyone know where I can get this piece? I can't seem to find it in my NPD catalog.

Is this a vertical or horizontal piece? Is it part of Ford's 222A56 window rear guide? If this small piece of felt is not available I'm sure you can probably use a new piece of the upper window felt that is normally stapled to the door.

Yes, it is part of the 222A56 part. It is the small black felt piece that is attached to it. You can see it attached to the rear door guide in the upper left side of the photo in the link below:

I may use a section of the old beltline interior weatherstrip that I am going to remove and replace. I just didn't want to buy a new piece at $103 just for a worn out piece of felt.

might check with your local auto glass shop. we used to have rolls of that type stuff for different apps. some even had adhesive on the back for "peel & stick". i had a bunch of it here, but it ended up not being fireproof...

I found a 4' strip of beltline type of material out in my shop which might work. It is fully on the top supported by a metal base. Non adheasive on the back though, thus you would need to find a way to either glue it or staple it like we see on our Mustang doors.

I'd be willing to cut a couple 3" pieces off for you. If interested, PM me.

Strange not to have thought of everything around all the spare parts. This is a piece that will surely substitute for a restoration. Or perhaps "trade policy" to sell shares of more value? :confu
In fact, the glass guide is complete with new felt ... enough to understand those who produce new leaders and where you provide for the felt. :roll
