Dim headlights...

So this morning leaving for work my headlights were dim. I installed a headlight relay a long time ago and everything worked fine. Could it be a bad headlight switch? I noticed when I turn the switch the headlights and gauge lights went dimmer. I won't be able to get my trusty power tester until get home later today. I haven't touch anything under my dash in a really long time. Any ideas where to start?

As I am sure you know, the list of probables is pretty long. I would start with verifying good voltage at the battery and then to the switch. Likely something as simple as a poor connection. You'll have to track it down one step at time. The solid state relay you installed for the headlights is almost assuredly not going to be the culprit. They are either work or they don't.
 
Found the problem was a loose ground wire by the voltage regulator. Tighten it up and I have bright lights. Things you can do on a 10 minute break.

I was going to suggest a ground. I am finishing up my rewire with an AAW harness and one of my headlights was much dimmer than the other. I tracked it down to the ground on that headlight by using my Power Probe. I added an additoinal ground to the system and it did not help. I finally cut off the terminal for the ground and replaced it and that worked. I have no idea what was wrong but since everything looked fine. Electrical stuff just confuses me. :rr

Glad you got it fixed! Do you still have the Lights you bought from me?

Yeah I still have them. The headlights are very high quality and haven't fogged up our anything.

that's funny because the cibies that I went with have fogged a bit.
