Bump Steer Kits - 65/66 Granada Spindles

Do Bump Steer kits offered by various vendors eliminate the bumpsteer caused by the use of Granada Spindles on a 65/66???

I'll take a stab at this and say "no". The BS kits I know of are designed to correct bumpsteer from a change of ride height. The Granada spindles problem is geometry and is independent of ride height. I could be wrong. :beer

One pair is all you need for 1 car - replaces outer tie rods. Baer Trackers fit the spindle you have, not necessarily the model and year of your vehicle. For instance, if you have a 1965-66 Mustang but are using Granada or 1970 Mustang spindles, then choose the 1970-73 Tracker kit. If in doubt, please contact us before ordering.

Shaun has the kit you need . I have one in the shop but have yet to install it .

Does that correct the bumpsteer that is caused by the geometry of the Granada spindles?

I doubt it.

Isn't the problem with the Granada spindle is that it drops the tie rod like 2" lower than a stock spindle?

Looking at these photos ( not mine ) you can see the difference in the two spindles, it's not much. I run the Granada spindle on one of our track cars without issues. I put the Baer bump steer kit on it and took out almost all of the bump steer.

Dennis at discbrakeswap.com makes a new spindle for the Granada brakes with the correct placement of the steering arm for the 65-66 cars if you want some.

Some people have issues with the Granada spindle while others don't. We don't. I have it on several of our cars and it works fine. The street cars don't use the bump steer kit.

Does anyone know how close the Granada spindles are dimensionally to 71 Mach 1 spindles. I have the 71 Mach spindles on my 66. It does have some steering issues also, especially with manual steering.

kcode,
I believe they are the same... what kind of steering issues are you having with your 66?
