Budget tunes square off (Custom Autosound versus Retro Sound) "ding" "ding"

Let's get ready to hear some music!!!

Round one: been checking reviews on a budget stereo for my 1966 and the two that are separated by just a few dollars are:

Retro Sound model Retro Classic weighing in at $179.00

And the opponent

Custom Autosound RDAUSA2E which replaces the USA-230 weighing in at $169.99

"ding" "ding" what are the reviews between the two which is the clear winner by TKO or Vegas favorite?

Hope everyone is good with my long day need to smile sense of humor...

I'm a young punk so i would suggest a Sony Unit , But looking at both I say the Retro Sound Looks a little cheesier but I like the jack in the front, Retro Sound wins with Rabbit punches.

Agree on the "cheesier" and the front aux port... I like the stock old school look of the custom unit but hear the performance is terrible. Ok, round one goes to Retro!

I skipped thew questionable-quality in-dash option and put a basic model JVC stereo in my glove box. I use a small remote to operate it and ran an Ipod input wire behind the dash and under the console and hide it underneath the left front seat.

I went with Custom AutoSound a few years back for the original look. Crappy reception but at least I can plug my ipod in and it sounds pretty decent.

I went with the retrosound Model one unit. Great sound and look. I can use flash drive, mp3, Ipod or sd disk with it. I don't regret going this route.

we also put a Retrosound Model one in the 65. I wanted something to fill the stock location without hacking up the dash. I read tons of review and it was better that the competitor. That being said, it is not overly impressive. Currently we have it direct wired to two tweeters in the dash and two kick panel speakers. It is music in the simplest sense of the word. Future plans call for two trunk mounted 10" woofers and two amps. Hopefully with the extra power behind it we will be more impressed.

Looks like it is Retro Sound by TKO!

Will place an order as soon as I sell a watch to put aside the funds. Thanks!

Crutchfield has good prices and great customer service and shipping. Better so than some of the Mustang houses.

I believe NPD is selling the Model one for about 240.00 total with the install kit. I will check their site.
