Black Friday Mustang Build

OK guys, so it's Black Friday and thankfully I am nowhere near a shopping center of any kind.

But it got me thinking, let's do some what if Mustang shopping.

Take a budget of 50K and build your car, price notations required.

Should be interesting to see what everyone comes up with.

Here is mine:

I want to build a track car.

Car, from local Craigslist - $1,500

Engine Ford Racing 363 - $8,295.

Total = $34587, let's round it up to $40,000 just to be safe. That leaves $10,000 for spares, tires, and track fee's.

I'll play...
I bought a 65 Mustang project, $5500

I'm going for a Pro Touring build with a look something like this...

The car comes with a Rod & Custom MII front suspension...

and an 8" that has been rebuilt and has a disc brake kit

I also have a 5.0

The engine is a 94 Cobra short block and has a E303 cam, I have tons of extra stuff with it. I traded three R/C Monster trucks for all this stuff (including an 8.8 rear that I swapped for a 9"), value of the R/C's was around $1,500

I also have a 65 Coupe parts car I paid $800 for

this will provide most of what's missing on the fastback.
I don't have the rear seat but I'm thinking of going with this
package_tray.jpg

It is $351.75 at Cobra Automotive

I have a T5 that needs to be rebuilt but I swapped some labor for it (actually Bill gave it to me because I would have helped him anyway!), It's a 94 so I need to swap the input shaft and get a scattershield/bell housing
$700 outta cover that stuff...

Shelby R apron, side scoops, hood ~ $1,000

Mini Tub kit about $400

That's a little over $10,000 so far. I will need late model seats, wiring, gas tank/fuel cell, cage, wheels and tires, brake and fuel lines, interior stuff, bodywork & paint, etc, etc.
I'll keep dreaming and add to this as I find and price stuff.
