Can we go faster than 50 next time? How about getting out of 2nd gear?

Mel

Just a note: Face Book is wonderful for just family and finding old friends. many many people who had a concept in their mind that it is some gimmick are fondly grateful that they tried it and found out just how cool it is. You control everything. It is like a living family reunion. I have family across the country and every day (or not) you can drop a note. This forum is like a small facebook and yet it seems to be fine for us. It strikes me as odd that I am writing on a "computer" to folks that are reading on a
"computer" saying they would never use facebook on a "computer " It is kinda like saying you don't mind using a phone to be happy butt know way in heck are ya gonna get me to use it to be happier.

Deez guys ain't totally paranoid, it's also very useful for stalking people. I don't need much information in order to get peoples' address, phone number, driving directions to their house. Heck, place of employment isn't that hard to find out sometimes, and a lot of people have their CV and/or resume floating around out there in cyberspace as well...if I've got enough info to connect the dots, I'll get more information than I can use.

Don't get me wrong, I like facebook as much as the next guy, but a lot of people aren't aware of the risks. Heck, I know what could happen, and if you could dig me up on facebook, you could stalk me in no time flat because I haven't gotten around to getting rid of some of my personal info. :lol

I don't facebook. I keep in touch with those I want to keep in touch with. I don't need anymore friends, I don't want to know what people ate, what they wore, their dog's name, etc. Likewise, they don't need to know that about me. The wife uses it a little but for the most part she tells me of all the idiocy that people think others care about. Yes, I'm a loner and I like it that way. I don't bash anyone for using it...to each their own. It just ain't for me. Youtube it Sluggo.

+1

Duane is my brother from another mother.

I have absolutely no desire whatsoever to communicate with friends and family in that manner. If I want to know what's going on in someone's life I'll pick up the phone and call them, which 99% of the time I don't because I really don't care to hear about it. My wife on the other hand lives within facebook communicating with family and friends.... most of whom she hasn't seen nor heard from in over 20 years. As an odd coincidence, since MySpace and Facebook entered her life, it seems every month we're cutting a check to some "distant family member/ain't seen in 20 years "friend" who used to sit next to me in Algebra II" who is suffering through some life altering event and wouldn't otherwise be able to make it without us. If we move this thread to a PW protected lounge I'll tell you EXACTLY how I feel about &%&*%%%* MySpace and Facebook.

Sounds like I need to friend Gabby and tell her how tough things are and how much I need y'all's help!!! ;)

Seriously, I do the facebook thing, and I *get* it. I also *get* why a lot of youse guys have no interest in being involved. I do have people in my past who I really genuinely liked, but that I haven't stayed in touch with for whatever reason. I like knowing that they're OK, and being able to contact them easily, should the wild hair ever insert itself in my backside. But I also see how annoying and stupid and trite it is. Most of the posts there are so vapid...and I include my own...hell ESPECIALLY my own!

I like it because I think the natural tendency of people is to not communicate, and that can be unfortunate.
I was thinking the other day that I basically never talk to my best friend from college who was also my best man. It's been at least 10 years. Maybe I'll look him up on FB.
I'm not one to post up what I had for dinner or stupid stuff like that.
It also helps me keep in contact with my daughter, who's away at college.

BTW, helluva nice video Randy!
Next one should include some "kills".
A nice new Camaro would be nice.

I'd like to do something similar.
What kind of camera did you use and how did you mount it?
