I have a 302 with an edelbrock rpm intake. I am going to add a console guage set with water temp, oil temp and ampsor volts. There appear to be water ports on the four corners of the intake. Front driver side has the factory guage temp sender, front passenger side has the temp sender for the electric fan setup. There is not a port on the water neck or t-stat housing. Any reason that I cannot use the ports on the back side of the intake? The one on the back/drivers side is easier to access and would be a cleaner run to the firewall. Also, the builder put the oil pressure sender on a threaded standoff that moves it about 5 inches out from the engine. Any reason that I cannot put a T fitting on the end of the standoff and mount the factory sender and aux sender on the same standoff? Also, the guage sets I am looking at can be configured with either an anmeter or a voltmeter. Which do you think provides more relevant information? What I am the most interested in is oil pressure and water temp, but there is a third slot. Is there some other guage that you believe is more useful than these electrical status optons?
