Well its for sale, and can be had for a measly $225,000 :yikes. I know he put some serious dough into it, but man for that much i'd have dave build 2 or 3 of them! :rofl :wtf

1967 Shelby GT500E Super Snake Mustang

Carroll Shelby built (1) 1967 Super Snake with a 427FE engine, and planned on building a total of 50. But because of the $7500 price, there were no additional cars built. This Super Snake was built as a tribute to that car.

This is the last Shelby Aluminum 427FE engine built by legendary race engine builder Keith Craft Racing (builder of all the Shelby Super Snake Eleanor Engines). It has been bored and stroked to 482ci. with a T Trim Vortech supercharger. Fast XFI Fuel Injection has been added. It has been dyno’d at 815hp and 733 ft. lb. torque. Backed up by a TKO 600 5 speed transmission and a 9 rear coilover axle. The front end has been replaced with a coilover suspension and a TCP rack & pinion steering. Shelby/Baer 13 front disc brakes and 12 rear disc help stop the beast.

The only remaining original parts on this car are the doors, glove box door, ash tray and a couple of interior trim pieces.

Gotta pay for a certain name on everything. Somewhere, someone will have the cash laying around.

This is complete BS. There's no provenance that this car is supposed to be what it is. Where's the unibody? Fender aprons? It's a rebody, for Gawd's sake!

Umm, the first page on the web link, says "So I decided to build my own Super Snake, but with all modern parts. Coilover suspension, disc brakes, modern driveline, engine, transmission, A/C system, electric windows, power door locks, etc." Its not the actual SuperSnake Mid. Just a knock off.

Then mine is too, the only original body left on mine is the roof, cowl, door jams & rockers, right door, dash and the front part of the rear frame.

Yeah, but you're not trying to sell it for 6 figures!

Nice work on the car but I fail to see what is 'tribute' about it? It's a '67 and has a 427, beyond that they're completely different looking, suspension, brakes, everything else I can see, what makes it a tribute to the original SuperSnake? I would think a tribute or replica or clone or 'add word here' would at least be 90% identical to the original. As far as I can tell KC still makes 427 block engines but it doesn't say if they're alum., so he got the last made alum. 427, I would think someone would still cast these as they would sell, no?

I know Richard. His # is plugged into my cell phone and we've conversed over several issues. His car was "for sale" pretty much the minute he finished it. In reality, he has no pressing desire to sell the car. He ran into some "exotic car importer/exporter" and they struck up an agreement to list the car to draw business for the guys company and they attached an "outrageous" price to the car. For $225k, he'd sell it, but he's not really trying to sell it.

$225k to Richard is the equivalant of a KIA Rio to most of us.

I remember when he was ready to bring the car to the media blaster..... he went out and dropped $45k on a truck and enclosed trailer to haul the car to the blaster. We were talking about "boats" one time and he sent me a picture of his.... a watercraft that luxuriously sleeps 12 and requires a small crew to navigate between continents is not something I consider to be "a boat".
