Anybody else's cars hate them when they drive them

Haven't driven my car in few weeks. There have just been to many things all happening at once. Well today I had some free time and decided to take the car out for a spin. Started the car and backed it out of the garage and onto the driveway. There in front of me was a nice puddle of transmission fluid. So I cleaned up the mess and topped off the tranny, hopped in the car and the temp gauge was not working. Not wanting to take a chance of over heating and not know it I just pulled the car back into the garage. Hopefully next weekend I will have the time to replace the pan seal and put in a temp. sending unit. Does anyone else's cars revolt against them like teenager when they don't get let out once in awhile?

+1, should drive them regularly. Due to non-op, the trans seals probably dried out. Run the car for a while to lube/expand the seals, and the leaks should stop.

That's why I take mine for a cruise at least once a weekend.....so it won't cop a attitude with me.

lemme guess, if it does act up, a couple boiled peanuts in the tank & all is forgiven.. :roll

That's why my coupe is named Murphy.

Funny thing is that I took my coupe to the MCA National Show in Reno and Murphy ran beautifully, no problems at all. That meant that there had be problems elsewhere. Yep, blew a trailer tire on the way up there that half tore off the fender from the trailer, AAA denied coverage for me claiming I only have RV coverage, and both MCA and the host club failed to provide the plaque and trophy Murphy had earned. So, to paraphrase, I went to Reno and only got a crummy dash plaque.

At least now AAA is reimbursing me the cost of the roadside assistance (which I had to pay for but never received since a Good Samaritan helped me get the tire changed before they arrived), Discount Tire is in the process of reimbursing me for the damage caused from the defective tire, and the awards are supposed to be mailed to me.

I take Midlife out twice a week for a 15 mile cruise, and it still gives me fits. After replacing the rear pinion seal, the rear carrier leaked until I tightened the bolts well beyond the recommended torque values and now I have 2-3 oil leaks up front that I am chasing down the sources with powder to see where the oil is coming from. It's a slow process to find small leaks. Meanwhile, a small gecko go into the interior of the car (I don't know how that happened) and he has disappeared somewhere...

That gecko was seen cruising on 231 in a red fastback with for sale signs....complaining that the dang thing makes a mess with the leaks all over his new home.....

Only a slow process if you don't drive but once a month...lol.

I feel spoiled somehow. My car really is "As new" with major improvements over what it was in 65. The drivability is kinda spooky. I guess it is making up for the 8 months it was apart for those last few winters.

I drove my car 4 hours from jeresy to ocean city Maryland, everything was good for 2 hours then traffic hit on the way there car started acting funny, shrugged it off kept driving cruised really nice around 60-70 then another half hour the radio decided to quite on me. Well I made it all the way there and this morning when I woke up to take a look at it, at the hotel there was power steering everywhere great. Loaded everything up grabbed some power steering fluid , car won't start right wtf carbs f-ed and idk why finally get past the hard start get it going shakes begin again, took the ferry this time so car had a break better idea but now I have to go run the car over to my buddy to figure out wtf is going on with my new motor, I'm pretty sure it's the carb but o well I thought I was pretty brave going that far with the car. Great time out there it's a hell of a lot better than then the jeresy shore
