All info I found with a quick search.....there must be more info out there. That would be a cool one to have....but I would have to drive it. Found this.... Super Rare 1966 Mustang GT Retractable Hardtop & 1966 Mustang GT Retractable Roof Operation

66 Mustang GT with a retractable hardtop. You heard me right! Fully retractable roof stows completely under the reverse-opening custom trunklid.

Designed and engineered by Ben Smith, the Ford engineer responsible for the original Skyliner Retractables from 1957-1959. Only 12 or 13 were built, and only 5 are known to exist. It's a true GT, Southern Cal black plate car with ZERO rust to boot.

IIRC Ford never made more than a couple of prototypes and nobody really knew about them until the designer got Mustangs Plus to produce conversion kits in the late '90s. Great idea, but the trunklid is uglier than poop and kills the looks IMHO.

If it has the cvt reinforcements, ie inner rocker panels, torque boxes, lower seat pans, it would be a good idea.
