I finally got my Flaming River steering box installed. What a difference. :vic
I feel like it safe to drive on the highway again. No more wandering into oncoming traffic!

Now I just need to replace the power steering pump that's leaking.

just tape your video camera to the dash and show us how much better it handles, Indy-pass a cruzer!

Im sure it can't be that bad!

Yes it can. I am quite embarrassed by my engine compartment. I really haven't gotten to it yet. Mostly been working on suspension brakes and steering first. I was planning on pulling the motor this winter, but with the baby coming in spring the motor is now on hold for a while. I guess I'll just have to keep driving it as is.

Here's the new box though.

As it should be.

Don't worry about an asthetically appeasing engine compartment..... it should be the last priority on your list. A nice and clean engine compartment won't do anything for you unless you're at a car show.

Yeah, I never cared about that before. Until I got on here and see everyone else cars.

I'm not a show car guy, so I don't lift the hood unless I'm working on something.

The cars that you're seeing have usually been "done" for a while and there's nothing left to do/upgrade other than "cleaning things up". I'd take a structurally sound/safe car anyday over one with a "clean" engine compartment.

Me too! I go to a lot of "cruise in" type things. I have a little sign I stick on the dash, it says "Dirty because it's Driven" real cars aren't perfect or always detailed but they do need to be safe and reliable. Show cars only have to roll off the trailer.

Yup she's usually dirty. I drive it every chance I get. even if it's just to get groceries. :craz
Not too big on shows. I usually only to take it to one every year.
