Original owner bought it new for his kids to drive. First, his daughter, then it passed to his son. After his son finished college it sat around a lot. The car finally got booted to the yard. It sat there 10 years or so. The owner figured it was worth a lot and never agreed to sell.
My buddy (who I bought the 65 FB from), works with the son. The father died recently and then someone shot the windows out. The son mentioned that he was offered some money for it. My buddy had been after the father to sell but he wanted too much. The son agreed to $4,000. It is a 327 3 speed. The car has a Holley 4 barrel and keystone wheels but other than that it's all original, the father even kept all the original stuff that was removed, air cleaner, hubcaps, carb, etc.
I was working on the Coupe/Fastback conversion this morning with my buddy and he told me he made the deal yesterday and was anxious to go get it. So I said let's go!
I'm not Chebby guy but it is a neet car.
