390 Q on build dates..

Talking with a builder who can put together a date coded 390, my fastback was built on June 9th 67 and I thought a correct engine date would be maybe two weeks before that, he's telling me more like 3 - 6 months??

Gary:

They were putting 390's into practically everything back then. I can't imagine that Ford had a 6 month supply of engines laying around. I would venture that casting dates preceed assembly dates by a week or two at most and then depending upon how far the assembled engine needed to travel to get to the assembly line for installation, I would say that two to four weeks prior to car assembly would be likely.

By the way, your garage looks great.

Thanks guys! that's what I thought a couple of weeks, 3 months max is good to know.

sorry guys, gotta take the time and figure out how to resize my photos in one foul swoop, uploaded the pic's to the site a couple weeks ago and wasn't thinking, got about 80ish to resize

I thought so too..... and then yesterday my wife was looking over my shoulder for a second.... saw a picture of the new man cave and said:

"It looks great except for that piece of missing door casing."

WTF? All of the "nice stuff" to look at in that new man cave and she notices a little piece of missing door casing in under 2 seconds? I booted her off the couch. Now I can't scroll through his sig pic without noticing it.

ya ya, dont show your wife the urinal without the door, that's what my wife and our female friends are on about

Thanks Dave now I will notice that everytime I look at the picture. Never would have noticed it. And I bet you never pull anything over on your wife if she picks out something that small.

Open your pics in paint and go to the resize button in the image tab, I think. then tell it the % smaller you want it from the listed 100%.

then save it to a different name.

Make sure to use the .jpg extension.
