Hi everyone,
I’ve recently been looking into small induction melting furnaces for a home jewelry workshop and wanted to hear some real experiences from others. I mainly work with silver and small amounts of gold, so I don’t need a huge industrial setup, just something compact, reliable, and easy to control.
What attracts me most is how quickly these furnaces heat up compared to traditional gas melting methods. I’ve also read that induction melting gives cleaner results and better temperature consistency, which sounds ideal for casting smaller pieces.
My biggest concerns are power consumption, coil durability, and whether the cheaper models are actually worth buying. Some machines online look almost identical but have very different prices, which makes it hard to judge quality.
For those already using a small induction melting furnace, what capacity do you recommend for jewelry work? And are water-cooling systems difficult to maintain over time?
Would love to hear your advice before I make a purchase.
