In today's world one would think it would be easy to find candidates for a good paying job. We posted an ad in the local paper and locally online and have had a total of one response so far. So, I am going to take a different approach. Telling all my internet "friends" about it and ask for opinions on other sources for good mechanics. If you know of anyone that wants to move to the Central Valley of California and is a good, hard worker with mechanic skills, please let them know. If you have an idea of other places to advertise, please let me know.
I realize that moving to California is tough, so most likely will find someone already living in the state. But considering we have hit a brick wall so far...anything goes.
Now for the job:
Locomotive diesel mechanic
Competitive pay depending on experience $20-$25 per hour to start
Excellent benefits including vacation, health, dental, life...etc.
Railroad retirement as opposed to Social Security (pays more than twice what SS does)
Very stable company, owned by the same family for 103 years
Great working environment
skills necessary: diesel mechanic, electrical, computer, hydraulic, welding
