It's been 7 years since we lost Johnpro

It hit me today that Johnpro passed away during the week of Hot August Nights in 2010. The fact John loved attending Hot August Nights and attended part of the event that year is a poignant reminder of how much Mustangs and this community were a part of his life. For those who's paths crossed John's path and looking to reminisce, here's a link to a slide show played at his memorial service. - RIP my friend.

I never met John. I was very new to this site at the time of his passing. He looks like my kinda Mustanger. RIP Johnpro.
 
We thought of him at HAN the past few days. Bill has his pic on a stick in his window.
 
I had the joy of parking next to John for a couple of years at Knott's. We walked all over looking for a pulley he was seeking.

I'll never forget him leaving that wrench on the differential.

JohnPro, you were hilarious and a good friend.

I remember being pleasantly surprised to see you at John's memorial. Coming cross country to pay your respects confirms you are a class act, don't let Toni tell you otherwise (lol). Looking forward to Knott's in the Spring, hope you two will be able to make it this year.

I didn't know him thru forums or in person. I also came over to the fix just before he passed. The comments and memories suggest he was indeed a great friend to many. RIP
 
I just bought him up in conversation at work because of something I remember him doing. We have a couple of 6 X 6 X 6 metal cages for recycling. We have been saving scrap steel for over 9 months. Got 20 bucks for it, and it was full. Not really worth it, but also not suppose to throw it away. John had 65 or 66 coupe that he cut up with a sawsall, something about not getting enough back to pay for the blades he went through. Gets better. John just loved the DMV. They wanted him to pay for the tags on the Mustang he cut up. This is the readers digest version, but to listen to him tell it "hilarious". One of the best human beings I met in my lifetime.

That was about 2:00 am Friday or Saturday night at the Knott's Hotel Bar about 10 years ago or so when the bar tender closed out our table's bar tab and placed it in front of John. John's slurred commentary on the amount of the tab which IIRC was about $120 caused all of us to bust out laughing!!!!

Great memories

Mike, was it Knott's or Pismo where the "Flaming Gorilla Fart" cocktail was discovered?
 
I never knew John either, but I've read a lot of his posts after the fact.

Wow, had no idea he passed in 2010 - only a month before I got Jane, actually.

I always like hearing Johnpro stories. Got to hear a few of them at Hot August Nights this year. Wish I could have met him.
