Are you rear fender lips rolled? I'd be very careful if you went reverse eye. I'd stay with mid eye.

Really , I think they are and if they are the PO did it, so.....if I go take a pic and post it in a few minutes could you tell me if there rolled.

I have a set of 4.5 leaf reverse eyes on the shelf. I got them for a song, but I'm really nervous on how they'll do once I bolt them in. Not so much the look as the tire-rub, as Craig mentions.

In the picture you can see the lip pretty good as it disappears into the shadow. The first part of the lip is pretty extreme (it is hard to get an angle to show just how far) and bends at about 65 degrees right away, towards the outside of the lip it bends in even further making a tire grab almost impossible. I think I can say for sure my lips are rolled. Does this make reverse eye more of a reality?

Remember if you do a reverse eye in the back, you will want to drop the front end down as well to keep the stance reasonably level. Do you want the car to sit that low?

I like the front low and it is. I know for sure I do not want to get the springs and have it be one of the many I have read that are too high after they put them in.. Mid eye will probably pan out fine.

Here's my 67 with Maier Racing 4.5 leaf mid-eye springs. Tire/rims are Falkin RT615's, size 225/50/16. Fender lips are rolled flat.

If I were to purchase springs again, I'd buy the reverse eye springs.
 
Bought some 1 inch drop springs from NPD and was not happy with what it looked like on the car. The spring that came off was bad and it sits higher than this one. The front is set at 23 3/4 inches to the center of wheel well. The new one inch drop spring sets the rear at 25 inches. It swallows the tire just like the front but the exhaust is hitting at the brake connecting block. This just too low. The axle is just 1/2 inch away so it does not matter if the connecting brake block was there or not. I see the other spring on the other side sits just right. Is it possible that only one spring went bad on the car. it was sitting much loxer on the driver side when I took the shocks off.

Plan to go back to NPD and get standard leafs tomorrow.
 
Just talked to NPD and bringing them back is no problem. The guy told me to do something that makes sense, he said put the other one on first and then the weight will be evenly distributed.
 
Drivers side gets most of constant the wear/weight.

Always put both on before judging.
