Does anyone have a secret technique for putting the clips back onto a new distributor cap? Since I have electronic ignition it isn't something I've done in a long time and I forgot how hard it is to re-clip the cap. Help!

That is exactly the method I remember using in the past. I tried that yesterday and no joy. Maybe my hands are too weak or I was using the wrong screwdriver. I just didn't want to be grappling with this if there was an easier way. Hard to believe that GM came up with a couple of cross head screws to secure their disti caps and Ford arrived at this elegant solution.Standard Ford clips? Some of them can be really tight, I have found that pushing in the middle of the clip (at the bow) while inserting a flat bladed screwdriver into the slot that top and convincing the clip to pop on works fairly well. Not sure my description is clear?!?!
