Finally Have A Powertrain Build Direction

The good news about deciding it's time to rebuild is you have so many upgrade options.
The bad news is, you have so many upgrade options.

I have wrestled with what to do with my 97 for a long long time.
Here's what I have now:
- stock iron 97 GT block
- forged pistons
- SVO heads/intake
- stock GT cams
- Vortech 12# blower
It's good for about 380 RWHP
It's a great daily driver and can put alot of cars on the trailer.

Now that it's rebuild time, the choices have been practically unlimited (well, except for budget constraints). I've considered:
- going 4V (ala 2001 Cobra)
- going 4V Terminator (2003-2004 blown motor)
- going S351 style with a stroked 351 pushrod motor
- going 2005+ 3V heads
- having my SVO heads ported/polished with some blower cams

I won't go over all the decision poiints, but here is the path I finally ended up taking:
- new fully forged shortblock with Cobra crank
- Fox Lake Stage II SOHC heads
- Crower Stage II blower cams
- ported Bullitt intake
- 42# injectors

I have all of the parts either in hand or on the way now.
It'll probably be late summer before I have the time to get it all together, but it's a huge relief to finally have a decision made and to be going forward.
Wish me luck.
