Brake pad life

What is the average miles that the pads should be changed or at least looked at (or is there a average?) on a 2007 GT :shrug

Pad wear is very much dependent upon driving habits, style, freeway vs. in-town, etc. At a minimum, you should examine your brake pads every time you change your oil. Or...when the rivets start making noise.

Are they the original or exact OEM replacement pads? It is my experience that the OEM's fit the cheapest pads they can to get you off the lot and give you ok braking. You may get double/triple the life out of a decent set of aftermarket pads.

Original with 55 k on the car. They look like they still have more than a few miles on them ( 3/8" maybe) Just wondering what would be typical for 1/2 hi-way and 1/2 city driving.
