what's the '69 fb market like?

A friend has a '69 fb mustang H code, its all there but apart. Red/black interior 351w original

I am interested, but have no idea of value. (I am working on '67 fb now, and have only looked at those)

I am sorta clueless on the '69 all together, but I am really starting to like the lines of the car

What ya think about the '69s?

Personally they are my absolute favorite...

As to value: it depends on condition, options, and location... anywhere from $2500 up.

Rust? Paint condition? Pictures? You are going to have to supply a bit more for an accurate appraisal.

Good luck,
-Rory

It is a shell right now, new shock towers (done very, very well)
In primer, needs rear quarters and driver side floor pan

Wood grain instruments, automatic, louvers, shaker hood
Everything is there, need new interior
Red originally

I was thinking of value in global terms, "they are hard to find" or "dime a dozen"

The lines are really growing on me. Its in black primer and its actually looks good in matt black

It is a great start for a car, and isn't hacked up

Without the car assembled, painted, and no engine installed and running for demonstration purposes, consider it a project car. You're probably going to get at most $10k if not a bit less.

Hey Mid......OP is looking at buying from a friend....not selling......but I agree......somewhere around 7-8000 would be good for the seller.

Offer him what you think is fair and see where it goes.

Is the car a Mach 1? If the woodgrain dash is original, the car either is a Mach (63C body code) or it has a deluxe interior, (65B body code), both desireable but the Mach ($) much more so. The H code is the 2v 351 and is the minimum engine needed for a Mach package. Check the body code to verify Mach or not as it will help to determine the value.

Is it an original shaker car? Does he have a Marti Report? If it has an original 69 windsor shaker base, that alone is worth $1500...

I was going to mention the value of the shaker also. Isn't it funny somone would spring for a shaker and not a 4v when new?

The fact that it is not a completely put together car dogs the value a bit in my opinion. Most people want to see everything together so they can verify it is a complete (or pretty complete) car, before they buy it. I paid $7300 for my running, completely solid, 98% complete 70 Mach back in 04. Without an engine or trans and still needing some metal work, my thoughts would be in the 5-8k range, depending on whether it was a mach or not. That being said, I personally think the 69 fastbacks are more desirable than the 70's because the front fascia/grill is more aesthetically pleasing and because of those wicked sweet side scoops, so you may be able to get slightly more for the car if you can find a buyer who is specifically looking for a 69 for the aforementioned reasons.

The '69s are the best, IMO! :thu

With the car still needing metal work and assembly, it's not worth a lot...Maybe $5K maximum. Done and in good driver condition, it's only really worth about $25K--if it's a Mach. And you'd be amazed at how many dinky little things that you'll find are ending up missing when you buy a "complete" car in boxes. You can't find the carburetor studs and the special adapter bracket for the PS pump is missing, and all sorts of details that end up adding a lot of time and money into getting one back on the road again.
