What I used to do every year for 17 years

My brother aand I gathered friends for 10 days of rafting on the King's River in the Sierras. We had two boats and guided 4-6 people on each trip down. We had three day stays of a group and we just didn't go down the river once in a day but 2 -3 times.
I did this for 17 years until I finally had enough of the 'people' he was inviting...it just wasn't fun any more. Besides he was nearing 60 at the time and I wasn't far behind. Our kids grew up there and his daughter (started going when she was 2 years old) is a professional river guide with Zephyr Expeditions and she met her husband there.

Ah memories.......

Nice! I go to the New River Gorge in WV with some good friends. We go down in a small raft (5+1guide) for maneuverability, so we can surf the holes and there are some huge ones 4+. Scarey sometimes! Going back in June with my 16yr old son, his first run. kip

I love white-water rafting, but have only done a serious river once...on the Deschutes River. My FIL annually goes down the Rogue River in Oregon, one of the top WWR rivers in the country. It's a lot of fun when it is hosted and catered!

Awesome Mikey.

The guys and I used to go down the Clackamas River. Those were some really good times. Miss those days.

Pretty cool. We used to run the Gauley (sp) during the fall dam release in a 6 man boat. It was friggin' BRUTAL but a great time.
