...and thought I'd share since I have proof.

Runs REALLY rich... Stopped at a light, a couple older lady's in a convertible were cackling up a storm, so I look over and they're rubbing their eyes. :shrug

Hey me too! I got the 65 out and cleaned it up and put the stock seats back in it and drove it around. I have a few other bugs to work out by Thursday so I can get it registered. It has to pass safety! I may go in and put the vintage plates on it since it will not need to pass safety, but the plates aren't as cool.

I have a 351W with a 625cfm Road Demon carb. Very mild cam, but dunno the specs. Can't seem to bring the idle down either (~1500 RPM). I get about 19" of vacuum with the mixture screws where they're at. When I lean out the idle mixture, the vacuum starts to bounce around erratically and the car wants to stall out off the line. I do have an old Holley that I'm going to rebuild and see how that compares.

Rich or not, it was still fun to drive around.

Mel, one nice thing about Michigan - no inspections or smog tests required. Of course our driving season is way too short.

Thursday I am registering the 65 as Vintage here. No safety inspection then. There is no smog down here in the South, so I am not worried. I think there is an exemption for this old of a car anyway.

Is is awesome to get out and drive it. After registering it on Thursday, I am going to take it fishing on Friday. It will be a good shake down.

Bruno, I am so happy for you! It is fun to get the old horses out isn't it?
