use of my car in Music Video

I've been contacted buy a country Music singer about using my car in a music video.

Iam afraid they might damage the car? Has any one ever done this?

I would want to charge them - what is the going rate? -Mark

I had a guy offer me $2k to put my car in a commercial. I would have to get the car to CA but they were going to pay for 2 days in a hotel. It was just too far for me to go.

I would do it for a couple hundred bucks just to have the experience. It isn't for Guns N Roses is it? LOL!

Check into and read the contract first. Make sure if its being driven who would drive it, any damages fixed to prior condition, etc....

Honestly, as long as the contract said they are liable for any damages to repair the car to exactly the state it was in not sure I wouldn't do it for free. If it is a well known singer the value of your car likely just went up. Just make sure to be able to document well that it was actually your car used in the video.

A guy in our club had his original '69 in Keith Urban's Making Memories Of Us video here in Nashville. He was able to go to the shootings to keep an eye on the car and met Keith who also had a '69 but it was kind of 'Foosed' out, I think it's at the end of the video.
As mentioned read the contract of who can/will drive it or if it will sit and request to be present if you can. They did not damage his '69 and it's flawless. I think the member moved as I haven't seen him or his wife around, he was paid something but I have no idea what.

Umm......I think you mean "Sweet thing" . They wanted a stock '69 for the outside shots and Urban's modified '69 is in the "barn" shots while the band is playing through out the video. His has different wheels, outside mirrors and no slats, hood tie downs just to mention a few things.

My mistake, that was the first link I found it on, maybe that's the name of the album? Not up on my country music but remember watching the video to see the car.

IIRC, his car is a real piece of s***. it was built over near knoxville by a guy who cut the floor/suspension out of a mark VII lincoln & grafted the 69 body on. car has major issues from what i've heard locally from some builders who were working to correct some things. heard there were big gaps where the firewall/ floor meet with water pouring in etc...

pops 38 p/u was used in a video/ television pilot a couple years back. they took pretty good care of it except for setting up a camera in the bed. put four dents in the bed floor that i had to fix afterwards.
