Today was a good mustang day

After far too much procrastinating with finishing up the Summit carb and Stealth intake installation, I finally got the car to move under it's own power for the first time in over a year. Granted, the trip was just up and down the driveway, but more importantly, there were no coolant or fuel leaks. The smoke detector in the garage did go off a few times until I realized that the power steering hose was resting against the exhaust manifold.

As Sluggo and others have reported, there was no tuning of the carb needed. I was sure that I had a bad fuel pump for a while since I wasn't getting any gas into the carb. I then decided to give priming the pump with fresh gas once more. After connecting a long section of hose to the fuel pump, I stood up and was filling the hose with gas. The hose seemed to empty awful quick, until I saw that the float bowls were filling up with gas. I love having the sight glasses on the side of the bowls! I reconnected the fuel line from the tank, and it started right up.

There are plenty of other things to be done before I start driving to work in the car, but at least I made some progress.

Sorry, no pics or cool video of the car running like Craig has, but it did happen, I promise :)

Thanks to everyone who offered advice along the way. It was all very helpful.

Yes, a day when you are able to make some major steps forward with the metal family member is a good day. Nice to hear you are able to move on.

Nice :thu
