Indeed!!! I used to take a lot of lightning pix but after a close call down in the Outer banks my wife has curtailed my "Self destructive photo whore behavior". Here is one from my Flickr page that hit a power pole on the next street over from me, i took a few years ago. kip

Bonsaikiptb is my alter ego on Flickr, haven't posted any pics on there in a while since I started finding my pics all over the web selling all kinds of crap! Did recently find Abe's Flickr page though, hopefully he will resume posting his stuff there when his life gets back to normal, i like his stuff. kip

Thank you, that's one amazing photograph. Please please send me a add contact request on the "flick" so I can check out some more of your work.

I am actually heading out tonight to Santa Monica and Hollywood for some night photography work. Things are still really chaotic but I feel motivated to get out there and capture some shots hopefully and relax a little.

Hey Abe, check your Flickr mail box- i sent you one in May. If you can"t find it I'll send another. kip (Have fun tonight and bring a tripod)

Goes to show the last time I checked it. WoW.

I will post up the results of tonight's work. Tripod is a must. I have some pretty creative ideas that involve some good ol Los Angeles traffic, the Santa Monica pier, the Hollywood sign, and other Los Angeles staples. Should be fun.

No one ever shoots at the photographers, right?

Awesome pics! :thu We had an electrical storm here on Tuesday night that produced some pretty cool looking lightning. The bolts would shoot sideways across the sky and immediately branch out into 4 or 5 "fingers". Pretty cool to see!
