The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

I finally got a chance to dig the old Mach 1 out from under the car cover today. Thought I'd better give it the once-over after a long tough winter.

Power steering fluid leaking? Check.

Brake fluid low? Check.

Coolant leaking? Nope, that's OK.

Oil leaking? Nope, good there too.

Well, let's top everything off & see if it starts... hey, that's my rear-view mirror in the passenger floorboard! :rant
Must have been too cold when I glued it last fall. At least the glass isn't chipped or broken.

Pump, crank, pump, crank - vroom! Cool beans! Not too bad for an old junk Ford :p Trickle charger works!

I guess swapping the distributor and intake will have to wait until I get the brakes sorted out. I can live with the mandatory Ford power steering leak for now. Brakes, not so much.

That's not so bad. Other than that, the only major projects this year will be replacing the peg-leg differential, and maybe reupholstering the seats.

This may very well be the Summer of Doug :pbj

Nothing better than waking up a sleeping beast after a long winter. :thu
Right about now i am regretting pulling my motor out this winter.
This just may be the first summer I don't get to drive my car.

Why not just drop yoir old intake and carb on the 5.0 and swap the EFI this winter?

I started thinking about putting my old engine back in. But I guess I'm in too deep now. I think I can get it done before summer is over. I have a couple of vacation days next week to work on it. Now that its warming up outside I have a little more motivation. The wiring is what I'm dreading.
