Test... dash cam

Rigged up a dash mount for my camera for the 69 this weekend, took it for a test run. Nothing special, just a little cruise around the neighborhood.

People say "there's more than corn in Indiana", which is true; there's also beans, wheat, and a lot of SUV's & pickup trucks.

Nice ride on a nice day on differently some country roads. Looks like a nice setup, sturdy and a clear picture but what are you recording with and what dash mount are you using?

did have to wait quite a while for that stop sign and a little 2d gear rubber, but worth it . . . like the Guess Who music as well.

The camera is a Canon PowerShot SD780IS:

Don't know what the deal is with the current price tag on those, I paid less than $200 about a year and a half ago :shrug

The dash mount - you don't even want to know :p

I just used stuff I had laying around, on the spur of the moment. A piece of 1/8" bar stock (it even already had the holes drilled in it), a little piece of threaded rod that was left over from cutting an air breather stud to length, couple of nuts & washers, a few peel-and-stick rubber pads. Oh yeah, and some duct tape! The end with the tape just wedges between the windshield & the dash pad.

Don't laugh! OK, go ahead :) I'd like to get something better/nicer, but this works for now, on the cheap. And I do mean cheap:

The camera records files with a .MOV extension, so I used Any Video Converter to transcode it to MP4 so I could upload to YouTube. Otherwise I would be looking at a 900+ mb file, which would have taken forever with my ISP.

Yeah, I've been on a big Guess Who/70's kick lately.

The rubber actually broke loose at the top of first, it likes to do that if you goose it right :roll
