Starting to look for a new project. Suggestions for me or your dream project.

My wife and I should break ground on a new house in the next month. It will be completed in Oct/Nov time frame. Thenew place will ahve a much larger garage where I can keep the Mustang and get another project. Room for a lift as well! :thu I am now looking into a few different cars for the next project and would like to hear some of your ideas.

I am looking to do something that is a bit different. On the top of the list is a 58-60 Rambler American Wagon. Next is a late 40's-early 50's Anglia. The Rambler will be more of a G machine type of thing. LS powered, automatic and likely a Art Morrison Chassis. The Anglia will not be the traditional Gasser look but more of a street rod/pro touring feel. Anglia would likely be ford powered and auto as well. The Anglia is kind of close to the heart since my dad used to drag one when I was a little kid. I was too early to remember it but it still made an impression on me.

Any car I would buy won't be a boat. I have considered things like a Caddy or 55 Buick Special but they are just so big. The car should have room for the family (4 people). What are your thoughts? What do you want to build for your next project?

1964 Comet. 65's are pretty bad ass too. Not real different but also not very common.

56 Vicky.......but to much $$$$ now days. As I have told my better half, if another old vehicle came into our family, I have no idea what it would be but I will know when I see it......but, I also must be in the market for one. Most likely be a driver at this point in life.

Do the Anglia.....that would be cool. Always liked them.

FFR Daytona Coupe, that's something you don't EVER see!

we had a 65 rambler in storage here for 15 years in perfect condition but none of us were interested in it, too small IMO now if it was a Rebel Machine I would be fixin that up! you don't see those everyday and i like the way they look... :shrug

I've pretty much given up on another project, due to no good painters locally. If I did, it would be an AC Cobra or a 65/66 Thunderbird.

No extra projects in my immediate future, but I'm eyeing the inlaws canary yellow 67 fairlane 2 door conv. Poor thing has been sitting under a car port, wrapped in a cover for a few years. Just needs a little love and she could be cruising again.

I always wanted to build an old Studebaker Commander in a Pro Touring style. The Commander is the one with the smooth slanted nose that kinda looks like a small bat-mobile.

Here's a few inspirational pics...

Here's a race prepped Commander in the Pan American Rally/Race

Here's a nice front end at a car show.

Here's one from Hot Rod Magazine... a bit over modified for me.

Here's another beauty... kinda has a James Bond look.

The Studabaker would be cool.

For a family how about a Willy's wagon?

They are awesome when done in a woody style on modern drive train.

That is the perfect starting point for an Anglia project. Too bad I won't have space for a few months. The weird thing is I have a Craigslist ap on my Iphone that is setup to scan OR, WA and ID and it does not pick up that car. WTH? Makes me wonder how good the application really is.

Nevermind, I see that the ad is about a month old.
