Today was a top down day here in Austin, high of 61, and sunny. My wife asked me to run to the store for her, so I took the very long route. I had not really had a chance to drive the car with the new engine, and suspension, so now was my chance to get out on loop 360 and enjoy the hill country.
Iam zipping thru the neighborhood, and notice a very nice BMW following me. Turn for turn, he is headed my way to heading for the highway. So I decide to have a little fun. You could tell he was trying to catch up to me, weaving in and out of traffic, a few cars behind to trying get to me. I just keep moving forward, also weaving in and out of traffic, but not really pushing it - or speeding.
We both turn onto Loop 360, and he is almost caught up with me. I can now see it's two younger guys in the the BMW, windows down, sunroof open, and I think they just want to get a loop at the car.
So they are just about to catch up to me, in the next lane, just about equal to me...
I decided to flip open the exhaust cut out, and drop down in third and floor it! :steer They are shocked, and trying to catch up... at this point Iam way ahead - blasting down the highway.
After a long stretch of Hi-way, I come to a light, and they catch up to me. We have a great laugh, and a good conversation about the car. The lights about to turn green, and the kid says - "want to race?".. I say no, "Iam just running to the store for some milk."
Ah - one afternoon in the mustang is the best therapy anyone can have......bj
