Went to Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale yesterday, wow. Mustangs everywhere, Shelbys too! Here are the required pics. I have hundreds more. Lots of Cars, food and even beer! The Reactor Mustang by the Ring Brothers is also up for auction!

I saw pics of the new GT350 earlier today, next to an original 350, it looks like it's twice the size! The new ones need to go on a diet, IMO.

we'll know by the end of the week, I think no reserve selling with this economy is crazy.... I wish I had an extra 150k laying around I'd be having me a 68 GT500 KR.

nice pics, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments. I talked with the owner of the Reactor Mustang, built by the Ring Brothers. That car has some excellent workmanship, no doubt. The owner on the other hand wasn't so confident, of the sales atmosphere. He told me that he thinks it's going to go for somewhere between $110,000-$150,000. As most of you probably know BJ went to NO Reserve, so he's rolling the dice in a big way. I don't think it's a big deal to him, as he has 2 cars in the auction! If it goes around $110K or less, someone is getting a steal! I seriously doubt he paid less than that to have it built.

It'll be interesting to see what it goes for. I'm sorry, but I'd NEVER pay what that car is worth. I dunno what everyone else thinks, but I just don't LIKE a lot of the stuff the Ring Brother's do.

On that car, I THINK my favorite bit of workmanship was the dashboard. Don't care for the big Radioactive symbols across the gauge faces, but the shape of the gauge cluster, and the rest of the dash, I think is very nicely integrated into the car. Almost everything else on the car reminds me of crap I didn't like that the ricers were doing 10 years ago.

JMO.

Wow, the reactor stang is over the top, I have to agree some of the features I don't care for but you have to respect all of the one off parts and pieces that went into it. I bet they have over 200k tied up in that thing so for it to sell in the low 100's is a hell of a deal. I hope they rally up the price for the owners sake.

Not my cup of tea, but i cant understand what the benefit would be out of making it into a split window?

According to Mike Ring in one of the interviews about the Reactor, he said that by splitting the original fastback rear window, they were able to flush mount it like late model cars and eliminate the old 60s stainless trim around it.

I bet we dont see the big bucks of years passed. Those guys are crazy for selling now. IMO
I'm not a big fan of the car, but did you see the 50 buick by Troy went for under 35k with the add on $$. Like you say the prices are way low for anything with that kind of craftmanship.

Seen a couple of the Ring's cars (ricer meets Mustang), not impressed. They would be a great addition to a new "Mad Max" remake. I'm guessing the prices will hold for the original cars. The "clones" make take a hit as well as the customs. We will know Sunday.

Last night there was a 1957 Mercury replica CHP car. Awesome looking car with a newer 302/AOD. Only sold for $14,000. I thought that was a deal, and would make an awesome cruiser.

As was stated earlier, I don't believe these "way too nice to sell for that price" cars are actually being sold to anyone other than back to the seller. I can't imagine a circumstance where ANY seller would let their car sell for 70% (or less) of it's normal market value.

According to the announcers, this truck was driven on by the owners, who stood by the gavel during the bid.

The owners didn't look to upset at the price of $59,400. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/applicat ... =304&pop=1 I'm sure they had less than that in it........lol. They have had it in the family for 40 years....I saw no tears in selling it.

It did bring nice money though.

Agreed. The vehicles that meet/exceed their value are sold to a new owner. I would assume that vehicles that are underbid would usually be bought back by the original owner.
